Palmer Tool is founded in a small garage in Camden, TN by Gene Palmer, a skilled welder and machinist, to support local industry with alloy fabrication
First Airlock Fabrication
In response to customer difficulties (short lifespan, long lead time, high replacement cost) sourcing high-value alloy rotary airlocks, Palmer offers a better alternative.

Camden Fabrication Expansion
Palmer expands Camden, TN fabrication shop to meet customer demand
Launched Mississippi Shop
Palmer Tool opens 2nd custom fab and machine shop location in Saucier, MS
ASME Code Stamps
Palmer earns ASME U and R code stamps, permitting Palmer to fabricate and repair ASME pressure vessels
HVOF Services Offered
Expanded services to include HVOF / Thermal Spray to meet customer needs for longer-lasting components in severe duty service. Palmer becomes one of the first shops in the Southeast to offer HVOF Thermal Spray
Expansion to Palmer Companies
Palmer Tool grows into Palmer Companies with the launch of our Contractors division, offering field services (welding, mechanical, outages) to industrial customers in West Tennessee.

Palmer expands to cover the Carolinas with our 2nd Contracting location in Charlotte, NC
50 Years Of Airlocks
2023 marked Palmer's 50th year servicing airlocks for severe-duty applications.
Thermal Spray Expansion
To improve problem solving and support new industries, Palmer hires our 1st Director of Thermal Spray with experience spraying different powders for Oil & Gas, Power Generation, Aerospace, Bearings, and Hydraulic Cylinders.
